Showman faces acid test

Showman faces acid test

Even as the showman gears up to be judged again by his audiences his Yuvvraaj is releasing today he seems to be quite a philosophic mood these days. Subhash Ghai, the man who gave the industry so many heroines and so many hits, was suddenly dismissed as a have been after a few failures.

In fact, after Yaadein and Kisna bombed at the box office, everybody thought that Ghai was finished. But the man was made of sterner stuff. He went ahead and made a film like Black & White, very different from his usual brand of cinema. He built his film school produced films, but finally bounced back with his brand of cinema with Yuvvraaj, which releases today. According to Ghai, in the period after he delivered his series of flops, he noticed a change in people's behavior towards him and realized again the need based relationships of the film industry. Friends shied away and stars were not keen to work with him. But it seems that Salman Khan, the man with the heart of gold, approached him then and asked him if he (Ghai) thought they could work together. That started was the starting point of Yuvvraaj. Ghai is believed to have been very touched by Sallu's gesture and began writing the film's script. That's how Salman Khan, a man Ghai had never worked with before, became a part of Yuvvraaj. The director is anxious and has the Friday blues. After all, he has a point to prove to his many detractors. Most importantly, he has a point to prove to himself. Thus, a lot of hopes resting on Yuvvraaj.
